Hikaru is based around footsies and whiff-punishing, and can be countered by them easily too. Once she gets Fakie though, it's the opponent's turn to bait Hikaru into whiffing, as her Fakie gets only one use. Without Fakie, Hikaru plays defensively, often baiting the opponent to whiff so she can get aggressive. Hikaru requires her opponent to give her Fakie via them hitting her counter or clones. Hikaru has one of the most easy to punish recovery in the game with half a second of landing lag. She relies entirely on her opponent messing up. ![]() If her opponent plays optimally, Hikaru has no chance of getting her Fakie up. Without Fakie, Hikaru suffers with her hack of range and readily-available burst options. Her recovery with Fakie is hands down the best of all. Hikaru has incredible punish game and combo game as long as she has Fakie.
